Our Story
I grew up at car shows.
Every summer, my father and I walked rows of classics—chrome gleaming, engines idling, each car a time capsule. But what stuck with me wasn't just the machinery. It was what was missing.
So many placards said the same thing: Restored. [Make]. [Model]. [Year]. Almost nothing said who the car had belonged to, where it had been, or what it had meant to the people who cared for it.
Those questions followed me home, into the garage. I'd wake up early on Saturdays to "help" my dad work on his 1935 Chevy—watching him rebuild the chassis, assemble an engine from the oil pan up, rewire the car, hide the battery beneath the floorpan. That garage wasn't just where a car was restored. It's where memories were made.
Years later, when I bought my own 1958 Edsel Pacer, I felt that absence firsthand. In the glovebox were faded club cards and unreadable receipts. Under the back seat, pearl-end pins—small, human traces with no explanation left behind. The car carried evidence of a life it had lived, but no way to tell the story.
The clarity came when my father showed me the records he'd kept for his 1971 Chevelle. He'd owned it only months, yet the history he'd already documented was extraordinary. And I realized the problem wasn't a lack of care—it was a lack of permanence.
That's when AUTOLOR™ became inevitable.
Our Mission
AUTOLOR™ exists to preserve vehicle history the right way—permanently, respectfully, and without relying on fragile systems like emails, notebooks, or hard drives.
Every log, receipt, photo, and story is anchored to the one thing that never changes: the VIN.
So decades from now, long after ownership changes hands, the full story of a car is still there—searchable, verifiable, and intact.
Because cars don't just pass through owners.
They pass through people.
And those stories deserve to last.
